This card was purchased in Amsterdam, Netherlands by my friend, Lotje. She scours all the great cities of Europe for unusual and beautiful vintage and antique postcards.
This postcard was shipped from The Netherlands to the USA by Lotje.
On the front of this vintage  postcard is an early photo portrait of a beautiful little girl and four Terrier puppies.  Under the portrait is the following caption:  THE FOSTER MOTHER.
On the back is a short handwritten message in Dutch but no address or postmark.  This postcard was never mailed.  It was originally made in England by  Raphael Tuck & Sons and was a Framed Gem Glosso postcard.  It was part of the Tuck Happy Childhood Series.
Measurements are approximately: 3.5" x 5.5" so this is a standard size postcard.   Aside from some signs of surface wear (mostly around the periphery including a creased corner), this card is still easy to see and appreciate!
