from the 1950s
.
Capital
served the eastern US
with hubs in Washington, DC and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Formerly known as Pennsylvania Central Airlines
, it
changed its name to Capital in 1948
to more accurately reflect its service territory.
United Airlines acquired Capital in 1961

The knife measures appx 6 1/2 inches long. The words
"Capital Airlines"
are engraved in the handle. I do not know the metal content or the manufacturer, but International Silver made most airline serving pieces.
This item is in
very good condition
. It has a few scratches from use, but there are no chips, cuts, bends or similar marring.
A nice item for the
Capital
collector.
